Our Dark Gold
OUR STORY
Founded on March 5, 2020, the company Café Monte Roraima was inaugurated with the proposal to encourage coffee production in the north of Brazil and consequently be an important piece for the development of coffee in the middle of the Amazon.
Our first purchase of coffee came from the Indigenous community of Mangueira, in the state of Roraima - Brazil, where more than 10,000 Conilon coffee trees are planted. In an area exclusively cared for by indigenous people only. The coffee at this indigenous community was a project started by EMBRAPA that was carried out in the 2000s. According to the indigenous people themselves, until then, they sold their coffee only in very small quantities near their lands, to either visitors or to NGO workers who visited there sporadically.
We are proud to say that Café Monte Roraima is from the Amazon, in the North Region and the company is 100% from Roraima. Our commitment is to highlight the development of the Amazon region. Our proposal is always to prioritize local production, or out of state coffee producers from the Amazon region near by.
Our objective is to build a model of regional development, in a sustainable way and always maintaining the quality and characteristic flavor of Café Monte Roraima: a strong and striking drink, always remembered by those who try it. And it was precisely from this force of the Amazon, the famous site Mount Roraima, that the name of the product came from, with the aim of making the company a reference in the country and in the world.
THE COFFEE
Café Monte Roraima is 100% Conilon, from the canephora species, which has better resistance in hot places, such as the North Region of Brazil, known as the Amazon.
According to research, canephora coffees have their origin reported in Central Africa which includes countries like Congo, Cameroon and Sudan. The Conilon variety was named after the area where it was found, with a large concentration on the banks of the Kouillou river and, in Brazil, the writing was adapted to the name we still use today.
Our coffee is 100% harvested in the North Region. contributing to the recognition and appreciation of the States that comprise the Amazon.
